Gender Policy Brief of Czech Forum for Development Cooperation
The Czech Forum for Development Cooperation (FoRS) has released a Policy Brief Gender Equality and Women‘s Empowerment: Towards More Equitable and Effective Development Cooperation in the Czech Republic. The Policy Brief calls upon the Czech policy makers and practitioners to place gender equality issues at the center of development cooperation.
The document explains that gender equality and women’s empowerment are a matter of international human rights commitments and a precondition to development effectiveness, suggests several steps how to put gender perspective into practice, and finally provides recommendations to policy makers and practitioners. The Policy brief was written for FoRS by Ondřej Horký (Institute of International Relations) and Míla O’Sullivan (ProEquality Centre/Open Society, p.b.c.).
